8 Random Things on My Birthday Eve

1. We are celebrating my birthday a day early since Daddy Mo' will be in Ft. Lauderdale this week for work.  No cooking dinner for me tonight, nosirree.  Instead, we're heading to Central Market where I can grab a glass of wine while the kids play on the awesome playground and someone else can cook dinner for me- score!

2. Man, my kids are cute.  However, the little one drives me bonkers on a daily basis.  True story.
3. I am attending Fitbloggin' this week.  I leave for Baltimore on Thursday and return home on Sunday.  I beyond excited.  Besides attending conference workshops that are blogging and health related, Friday is dedicated to a 5K run.  I may even wear a tutu for this 5K due to peer pressure.  Also on the Friday schedule are lots of other fitness activities, like Zumba'ing and doing a kettlebell workout.  Some might find it weird to be swooning over a day of exercising but I don't- I think it's super cool. Even better, I will be meeting up with quite a few of my Shrinking Jeans sisters and we will be partying hanging out, laughing drinking.
4.  Over the last few days, I have been giving serious consideration and thought as to whether I want to run a marathon.  I have done three half marathons in the last year and they have been great experiences.  I love love love doing the half marathon distance.  Do I really want to double the distance and if so, why? Do I have the stamina to go for it, will my body survive, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, do I have the time to dedicate to the training?  The biggest hang-up for me right now is TIME.  I just don't feel like I have enough of it and I already feel stretched so thin.  As supportive as the husband is with my running, it is a HUGE commitment not only for me but for him and our family.  I'm not so sure that now is the right time, given all that is going on.  But then another part of me chimes in- will there ever be a perfect time?  The jury is still out on this one.  I do know that another half will be added to my schedule for the Fall though : ).
5.  My gray hairs are multiplying quicker than I can pluck them.  Damn.  I have never colored my hair and hope I don't have to start just yet.
6.  I have no pictures of me with my sister at her wedding.  How did this happen?  I know we must have taken some but they weren't with my camera.  This is so wrong!  However, here is a picture of her- isn't she beautiful?
7. I'm waiting nervously for my dad's cancer scans results to see if it's spread.  We are thinking positively that it has not.  We should know sometime this week.  Fingers crossed.

8.  I am 39 years old (or will be as of Monday).  I am now knocking on the door of 40- WOW!  I still feel so young in some ways but not in others.  Ummmmmm......

Happy birthday to you!!! 39 isn't too bad, but I have to admit I am dreading the big 40 coming up next February. Enjoy your dinner out, wine and all, and I hope you have a great trip to Fitbloggin!

I so wish I was going to be partying with the Shrinking Jeans girls. They have to have one of these things that's not at the end of school. I'll save the official Happy Birthday till tomorrow.

the beadwork on the neckline of her dress is gorgeous (as is she).

as for the full marathon, time isn't so much the question as energy. you'll make the time. energy is harder to come by in a busy season of life.
