The San Antonio Rock n Roll Half Marathon (13.1 miles) is a little over two weeks away.
My last long training run is tomorrow.
I will run 12 miles.
I have never done a 12 mile training run.
A little encouragement, support, motivation, MOJO, and your favorite upbeat song would be greatly appreciated.
Would anyone like to join me? HA!

How I wish I could join you! I'd never be able to keep up with you though. I'm very old school (and old in general) when it comes to music. I love to work out to Motown, Bob Seger and a personal favorite is The Bird by Morris Day and the Time. You are going to kick ass in this mini and tomorrow will be awesome. Just like you!
You are going to do great on your 12. Like one of my friends said, "12 is no different than running 10, you just run a little longer." :)
You have to have a little Journey. Also: Airplanes by BOB, Boom Boom Pow from Black Eyed Peas, Fighter by Christina Aguilera, Greatest Day from Bowling for Soup, Lose Yourself from Eminem, Move Along by All American Rejects, Tik Tok by Ke$ha. I could go on and on!
I hope to get my mojo on and knock out 5 tomorrow. I haven't run since last week, so it could be interesting.
Just make sure to start out a little on the slower side so you have some gas left at the end. And take in some gu or something 1/2 way through, even if you don't think you need it. I didn't on my 12 and almost keeled over. True story.
Love You!!!
My half isn't until January, so my *long* tomorrow is only 5. But I'll be out there with you, nonetheless! And since I'm walking and you're running it'll work out the same!
My fave song for speed? A good recording of "Flight of the Bumblebee". Does that make me lame? I have an awesome recording by Maksim (Croatian - don't know if he's hit your I-tunes yet!) and it just makes me fly!
If you lived by me, we could run together! I think our races are on the same day--but my run tomorrow is 13 miles and then 11 miles next week before tapering. Apparently I'm following a crazy schedule, lol.
Music...let's see, I've been enjoying mixing up my list. I love hip hop--a lot of the songs already mentioned. Also Empire State of Mind, Love the Way You Lie, and Swagga Like us (I download clean versions!). But then I like to mix in some old gospel like Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker and Kirk Franklin! There are a lot of fast Hillsong United tracks and my new fave artist is John Mark McMillan. His version of "He Loves Us" is totally runnable. Is that a word?
You can do it!! (and just think of the guilt you don't need to feel when indulging in a bit of candy this weekend)
I listened to "To Hell With The Devil" by Stryper on my 5K and that really helped me want to keep going! Or AC/DC's "Back In Black!"
I have no idea on music as we've had the running music talk before and we kinda don't agree on it! :) But you are going to do great tomorrow. And you're going to do great on your half! Your SECOND half this year!
"I Need a Hero!" You know, the song from Footloose.
And believe it or not, my favorite song to run to right now is 'Can't be Tamed" by Miley Cyrus. I know I know. Don't tar and feather me. But it has an awesome beat to run to. I swear.
Good luck. I, too, decided that my second time around I would do a longer training run than 10 miles. I didn't think the extra three on race day would be that big of a deal, but BOY WAS I WRONG!
Oh, and HAVE FUN!
I'm sorry I didn't get to send you good vibes before this but it went pretty well, right?
Ran my longest yet this morning too.
You're gonna rock that half! :D
