Like a Sister

I am sitting on Christy's front porch, enjoying the magnificent view and relishing the cooler weather- like 67 degrees cool.  It's almost like Winter here.  I've got my cup of coffee, the older kids are watching cartoons, the younger two kids are still sleeping and Christy has gone out for a run. 

I can hear the river down below, the birds are chirping, and there is a sound to the quiet-ness here in the Hill Country.  Yes, there is a distinct sound that belongs to peacefulness.

I love it here.

My kids love it here - they are already talking about going fishing and swimming today.

All the kids love each other.  Heck, BJ and Sophie have "known" one another since they were 11 months old.  They both turn 7 within the next two months.  The other 3 children have known each other their entire lives.  They are like siblings.  Sam and Mia hang together.  Mia loves on Little Anthony.  They hold hands, they talk, they play, they love.

I told Christy last night that when I walked into her house, I felt like I was entering my sister's house.  We are so comfortable with each other and have spent so much time together.  Even though my last visit with the kids to this awesome place was in February (way too long), once I stepped through her door, it was like I was returning home.

She is my sister.  Or at the very least, I love her like one.
