Today I had a PR during my 6 mile run.
Back up.....SIX MILES? Yes, I ran six miles today as part of my training runs for Team in Training.
A PR (personal record) is one that I have seen others do. A PR is when you beat your best time. I have envied others their PR's, I have wished for my own PR but I wasn't sure if I had it in me. Truthfully, I had a PR but I wasn't impressed with it, I wasn't impressed with my own time, my own running pace.
Today, I ran 6 miles and I now have a PR.
I literally want to stand on the roof of my house and scream at the top of my lungs- I HAVE A PR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For you non-running folks, you might be thinking I have gone off the deep end. You might think "what's the big deal about a PR?". It is a big deal because I have been working so hard at this running thing. Running does not come naturally for me. I have to work HARD at it, I have to be disciplined about it, I have to make myself do it on some days.
But today, I ran 6.03 miles in 1 hr 3 min 3 seconds, with an average pace of 10:27 min/mile.
Hi, my name is Lisa and I have a PR and I am damn proud of myself.
