Food makes me happy. Really happy. Especially when we have non-traditional food on a traditional holiday. In this case, we had hummus, homemade pita chips and tabouli at our Thanksgiving table. DELISH!
Watching my husband interact with the youngest of our crew makes me oh so happy, especially when they are doing their best to make the other laugh. Too precious.
Watching my three kids ham it up for the camera, especially Stevie Wonder over there on the right, makes me giggly-silly happy. For the record, Sam has announced that he wants to be a rockstar when he grows up. I want to know how he knows what a rockstar is.
But you really want to know makes me extra-special happy? These next two pictures. Yes, this is a picture of my hand with a ring on it, specifically, my wedding ring. My wedding ring has not fit since I was 7 months pregnant....that would mean, it hasn't fit since July 2008. Yes ladies and gents, I have been sporting around town with my three kids, wedding band-less. I am positive that there were oh so many men checking out my ringless hand wishing they could have some of "this".
OK, I giggled typing that! Finally, IT FITS AGAIN! I am sure my husband is relieved that I am wearing my ring again : ).
Along the same lines, this next picture makes me fantastically happy. Last Thanksgiving, I was wearing the jeans on the left. This Thanksgiving, I wore the jeans on the right. And, And, ANDDDDDD, I just bought a pair of Old Navy jeans in Size 10. They are a few pounds away from being worn on a regular basis and I don't really think I am a size 10, but hey, I'll still claim it!
For now, I am firmly entrenched in Size 12 and I am perfectly happy with that.
Other things that make me happy but that I have no pictures of this week:
- Wiggity, wiggity music....you know, that music that makes you want to dance or in my case, RUN FASTER during my training runs. Songs like Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music", Black-Eyed Peas "Boom Boom Pow", and Pitbull's "Hotel Reservations".
- Margaritas. The more I drink, the happier I get. 'Nuff said.
- Warm slippers on a cold morning and yes, it's finally COLD here in Austin, TX.
- My husband's work trip to China being postponed, at least for the time being. I hope this holds true through the holidays.
- Cuddling and playing footsie with my daughter at bedtime.

These are all so happy and full of love!! I will be wishing and praying for a continued delayed trip to China -- at least through the holidays. Love these pics full of life. :)
What a gorgeous wedding ring! You must be so excited to wear it. :)

Congrats on the jeans! I think that's really fantastic. I want to start exercising again, but GROSS, I hate it and have excuses.
Wish you were my neighbor and we could go run together!
Great pictures! I found it a bit funny that your first picture was food and your last was smaller jeans! Congrats on the smaller size!

Well done on the jeans front, hope you didn't hope you could still fit in them the day after thanksgiving ;) I'm also a big fan of music that makes you want to dance about the house or out running and sing out loud too!
Your children are so beaautiful!
Those last 2 shots are priceless....but your paid for them in sweat my dear! Great job!
This great :) Your ring is gorgeous!! And yay for the new size!
Silly kids are the best. I have a few of my own! Congrats on the weight loss, it's a wonderful thing.
Great pictures. Those kids are so darn cute!
This is WONDERFUL. And is all that food up there homemade?? I want recipes. Yum.

Girl, you ARE shrinking!!! WAHOO!!
Love that you can wear your ring again, that is so awesome.
And that pic of your hubs and baby Anthony is so sweet!
Um, you ROCK!!!!!!! I am so proud of you Lisa. I will be in a size 12 by Blogher, that is my goal. I am telling you so I have to be accountable ;)
I love your rockstar, he is too cute. Seth likes to "rock out" a lot with his air guitar and it cracks me up.
You know what makes me happy? you.
I love how your sweet girl is hugging the other two in that pic! And for the record, I asked for a new ring for Christmas. My engagement ring fits, but my wedding band doesn't really come off. Some idiot convinced me to get it 1/4 size smaller than the engagement band when we bought it. And silly me had to have the one with the diamonds that go all the way around which means it can't be resized. But I know that even if I lose the 6-11 pounds that I want, I will NEVER be the weight I was when I get married. Can you say skin and bones??? I think I only weight 112 pounds - yikes!
Your little guy with the microphone cracks me up!!! And I love the fact that you're in size 12's comfortably. Woo hoo!!!!
You rock! So proud of you! Cycling next thursday??
Cheryl
That's a gorgeous shot of your hand!
Love your photos this week! So much fun! Your children are a riot . . . especially your little rock star (where DO they come up with stuff like that, when they're so little?!). Way to go on the size 12's! YOU should be the rock star. lol So enjoyed your post!
Good for you! And nice job on the pictures too.
You are a great inspiration and you are inspiring me to jump back on the wagon! Thanks for you posts ..... they really do help!
It was so nice to meet you last night! You made the wait in the line more bearable. :) And thanks for driving me to my car! I hope that the picture I took of you with PW isn't too sucktacular. I didn't zoom in -- I was too intimidated by your awesome camera! :-0
That hummus looks wonderful! And congrats on your ring and your jeans!!!! It really is something to be proud of:)
