THREE

Sam, Sam, Sam...... you are three years old today. Oh my, what a year this has been for you and I.

First things first- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

You are ACTIVITY and MOTION and NON-STOP ENERGY and FUN and DEVILISH ANTICS and SILLINESS and LAUGHTER all rolled up into one little boy. You have kept me on my toes this year, oh yes you have.

Highlights include:

• Talking! For a short while, we were concerned that you might never talk but you proved us wrong thank goodness. Your speech is still hard to understand at times but you have made leaps and bounds in your vocabulary. Words that we hear most often: I am Sa-ammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, yep, nigh-neen (Lightening McQueen), Sissie (Sophie), Baby Nan-Nee (Baby Anthony), Wee-Ween (Lincoln), Moo-Moo (Mia), Wu-wu Ta (Diego toy), Baby Mark, pee pee, I want bapple and so forth.
• Headfirst. You have no fear whatsoever and you have a high pain tolerance. You have been known to run and jump into the pool at will and usually as far away from us as your little legs can take you (any pool, any depth).
• Life. You live life to the fullest-laughing freely, pestering freely, loving freely. At only three years old, I want to be YOU- that is how awesome you live. Is it because of your age or is it because of you? I think it is just YOU, it is your essence.
• Likes. Sophie, Little Anthony, Lincoln, train tracks, puzzles, Diego, Lightening McQueen, changing your clothes 10 times a day, brushing your own teeth, swinging, running, riding your tricycle, playing with water, taking a bath, reading books, watching TV, singing, dancing, doing anything AND everything big sister does, getting into trouble by terrorizing your siblings (you especially like scaring the baby until he cries!).
• Dislikes. being told NO, green veggies, having to sit still for any period of time.
• Behavior. Ummmmm, you behave pretty well most of the time, but as typical for your age, when you are in a "mood", you get very ornery, whiney, clingy, or defiant These moods are usually brought on by lack of sleep.

You are my sunshine, little boy. You make my heart sing and flutter and pitter-patter.
